WOO! MAC DUPE!

31 January 2011

Okay, so there I was watching Meganheartsmakup on Youtube when I catch sight of her nails. At first, second and third glance I was sure that it was the NYC Prince's Street that I rave about but when the video continued it turned out to be none other than MAC Violet Fire.

MAC Violet Fire retails for around £9.00 whereas NYC In A New York Colour Minute Prince's Street goes for more like £1.99 - £2.99!

GET IN THERE QUICK GIRLIES! <3

NOTD - Nails Of The Day

30 January 2011

Today my nails are a goooooorgous petrol purple! This colour is brand new to my collection and I am in love with it. Its so pretty yet, it has a edgier side to it..

NYC In A New York Color Minute in Prince's Street is what i'm talking about girlies! Even better is it retails for around £2.99! SCORE!

I did three coats, no top coat, and for a base I used OPI Nail Envy Matte, but to be honest just use any old base coat!

In the bottle it is a deep purple, on the nail it is a medium toned purple, and in the sun it is a purple - with bluey undertones and a wee bit of a shimmer from the metallicy finish.

Without further ado.. Here she is!

Gorgous Colour, Love it! <3

New Nails!

30 January 2011

So yesterday, when my mam returned from work she had brought me to things. Two nail varnish's. If you saw my wishlist you'll see that alot of the colours on there are from the NYC In A New York Color Minute range. Well, both the colours she bought me where from that range!

One was a replacement for Pier 17 that I had and which was my favorite colour ever since I bought it just a couple of weeks ago, however yesterday when I opened my makeup bag (yes, I kept in in my makeup bag so if ever I felt the need for a bit of blue it was there!) I saw that it had leaked.. It hadn't damaged any of my makeup but the bottle was pretty empty. As you can guess I was pretty gutted. Anywayss, I told my mam not expecting an instant replacement but she came home with one and more!

The next colour was NYC In A New York Color Minute in Prince Street. Its such a preeeetty colour. In a wierd way it kind of reminds me of petrol, in the best possible way of course! Its a medium shade of purple when you look at it but when the light hits it, it has bluey undertones and i'm pretty sure I saw a bit of a shimmer in it. I LOVE THIS COLOUR!

I think i'm going to try collecting the whole collecting of NYC In A New York Colour Minute as I simply LOVE the colours they have, the quality is good and the names are the cutest!

Ahh, you gotta love the mother don't you?!

My Wishlist

29 January 2011

Yes, yes, I know. Third post of the day but its just so addictive! Also the fact that its minus 3 degrees outside, raining and blowing a hoolie (not to sure if this is just a local word or not, so comment letting me know if you understand what it means or if you just think i'm speaking nonsence!).

Any hoo, on with the list! My wishlist consists of only drugstore brands because being a student, I can't afford OPI or all that jazz.. I'm quite content with my drugstore ones anyway.

After a long time trawling the Superdrug website this is my wishlist :-

Rimmel Lasting Finsh Nail Polish - Double Decker Red
Rimmel Lasting Finish Nail Polish - Black Cherries
Rimmel Lasting Finish Nail Polish - Black Cab
Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish - Pulsating
Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish - Pompous
Revlon Nail Enamel - Perfect Coral
NYC In A New York Colour Minute - West Village
NYC In A New York Colour Minute - Downtown
NYC In A New York Colour Minute - Canal Street
NYC In A New York Colour Minute - Chelsea
Maybelline Forever Strong - Nude Taupe Couture
Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Nailcare

Anyone have any of these?
Opinions on them?

NOTD - Nails Of The Day

29 January 2011

Ever since Winter started I have been really getting into dark nails, deep blues, deep reds, purples etc. I just love the way they look and I am always catching sight of them out the corner of my eye. I was in Superdrug the other day and I was having a look around and I saw the most gorgous, dark, dark, almost black green. I didn't have time to buy it so I decided to send my mam to town to get it for me. However, as I couldn't remember the name or brand or where abouts in the shop it was, she ended up getting me the wrong one. It is green but it's not dark, its more of a metallicy lime colour. I do like it, but it's a shame its not the one I wanted. Oh well, nothing you can do about it so I shouldn't complain!

Its N.Y.C Long Wearing Nail Enamel in shade 118 Big Money Frost.
It comes in a big 13.3ml bottle which is so full of the product its unreal, this will last a long, long time!
For £1.99 the quality is outstanding, doesn't apply streaky and it lasts a while without chipping.

On rainy days like today, it really makes me ready for spring.

Hello There Dear.

29 January 2011

As my New Years Resolution I decided to spend my spare time doing blog posts. I decided on something beauty/fashion related because this is what I am most passionate about. It took a while to narrow it down but I finally decided on Nail Art and Tips as I am consrantly buying nail varnish, painting my nails, looking up new nail varnish and designs and looking up ways to help my nails keep healthy!

I know, I know, starting my New Years Resoloution just as February begins isn't the best start but hey, at least I'm giving it a go!

I look at blog posts about nail varnishs and the majority of the time its higher end stuff, like OPI. Now, as much as I adore the colours, packaging and most of unusual names, I realise that alot of people (myself included) cannot afford to spend £8/£9 on nail polish. My blog will focus more on drugstore brands, which most of the time are just as good if not better!

Well, this is my blog, HOPE YOU ENJOY! <3

please comment, follow, and email me with anything you want, it would mean the world to me.
